1. You can find suppliers on Google or Bing.
For example, if you are looking to find suppliers of cable assembly in China. You can type “cable assembly supplier in China”. You may find some B2B (business-to-business) platforms on the search result page. Try the organic results and ads that appear.
2. You can also find suppliers in B2B platforms like alibaba.com, made-in-china.com, or globalsources.com.
You can type keywords like “cable assembly” “custom cable assembly” or any longtail keywords that describe your requirements. To contact a supplier to send an RFQ (Request For Quotation, which allows a number of suppliers on the platform to bid), you will need to register as a buyer. It requires some basic information about you. Such as name, contact number, country, company, etc.
3. Finding suppliers on exhibition is also a good way.

The Canton Fair or China Import and Export Fair is a trade fair held in the spring and autumn seasons each year since the spring of 1957 in Canton (Guangzhou), Guangdong, China. It is the oldest, largest, and most representative trade fair in China. The National Pavilion (export section) of Canton Fair is sorted into 16 categories of products, which will be exhibited in 51 sections. If you are looking to import multiple products from China, you don’t want to miss this trade fair.
Electronica
electronica— the world’s Leading Trade Fair for Electronic Components, Systems, and Applications.
It is held in three locations.
Munich, Germany – Electronica has been held at the Messe München trade-fair center every other year in November. The coming one is electronica 2024.
Shanghai, China – Electronica China is held every year in Shanghai, China since its foundation in 2002. The coming one is electronica China 2023, from March 22-24, 2023.
India – Electronica India is held every year in India since its foundation in 2000. The coming one is electronica India 2023 in Bengaluru, India from September 13-15, 2023.
Global Sources Consumer Electronics
It is held in Hong Kong, China by Global Sources. It is the global sourcing destination for the newest and most in-demand consumer electronics. The coming one is in April 2023.
There are different types of cable assemblies and connectors. For example discrete-wire cable assembly, flat ribbon cable assembly, molded cable assembly, RF cable assembly, etc. Ask if the supplier can make the one you need before moving to the next step.
If the supplier is able to make what you need. Confirm the following.
MOQ – As cable assemblies are customized products, suppliers will always quote a MOQ if your quantity is lower than MOQ or you don’t share your quantity with suppliers.
Try to get the most from suppliers through your talent for negotiation.
When you first ask for samples, suppliers in China would usually ask you to pay for shipping costs.
It is always better if you have time to deal with multiple suppliers, and compare their offers, services, the comfort of communication, etc.
Cable assemblies are customized products. Sample approval is always suggested to be done before placing your orders. Inspect the samples according to the datasheet you agreed with the supplier. When the samples are approved, you can use the datasheet or the approved samples as a yardstick for the inspection of bulk orders.
If the samples are not approved, you can ask suppliers to modify them accordingly and re-submit the samples.
When samples are approved, you can send your purchasing order to the supplier. Usually, the supplier will send you an invoice with bank details for payment. Make payment as agreed with the supplier earlier. The supplier will start work when payment is confirmed.
This is the optional inspection before shipping by your authorized party or your office in China. The majority of our clients skip this step.
Make a balance payment one week before the ship date, as it takes a few days for the payment to reach your supplier’s account.
You can arrange the shipping yourself, or you can just have your suppliers do the shipping.
